The use of ICT, specifically computers and the internet, allows students and teachers to access information about the histories and cultures of indigenous Australians. The benefits of ICTs in this sense is the ability to locate records of 'storytelling' by indigenous Australians, and in turn enabling students to attain an understanding of the culture through credible sources.
The Australian Government, Creative Industries and Arts Council of Australia, agree that ICT and the ability to locate and collect information "enables research, provides access to cultural property and preserves our cultural heritage"

The benefits of using ICT in Drama to locate and collect information are already being seen in other Drama classrooms around Australia. Click on the image below for an example of a Drama/English teacher who uses ICT in her Drama classrooms to locate and collect information on the histories of indigenous Australians for her senior Drama classes.

The teacher, Karla, uses ICTs such as YouTube videos to help her students gain an understanding of the characters within the play Stolen by Jane Harrison. Karla's unit of work on Australian Theatre includes a number of ICTs to locate and collect information for students to gain comprehensive understandings of indigenous perspectives - a key requirement of the Australian Curriculum.
Karla's students engage in ICTs by watching recordings of Australian theatre productions and viewing YouTube videos deconstructing the elements of the Australian theatre productions. This allows her students to form meaningful links between the drama conventions identified, and the storytelling of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
